  1. 1
    STEP 1 OF 9

    Help

You’ve realized you have a problem:

    • What’s the black stuff growing in the corner?
    • The bathroom is unsafe
    • Climbing over the lip of the tub is just too hard
    • You can’t stand the avocado green any longer!

You need a partner who can demystify the process and manage the entire project end to end.

    Confirmation

    • That you own the home
    • That the consultation takes about 90 minutes
    • That all decision makers will be present

    In-Home Consultation

Everyone wants to start with how things will look. We do it differently — first we identify the problems to solve:

    • Damage to your home
    • Functional configuration changes
    • Tub-to-shower conversion (easier step-in, less fall risk)
    • Enlarged entry / barrier removal for accessibility
    • Walk-in bathtub
    • Appearance (you can’t stand it anymore!)

Then we evaluate options together: why the problems happen, which layout and materials solve them, the functional and cost tradeoffs, and the combination that delivers the best long-term value for your budget.

What the USA Bath bathroom remodeling process actually looks like

The nine steps above are not a marketing diagram. They are the sequence every project follows, and the reason the bathroom remodeling process is worth understanding before you hire anyone is simple: most remodeling horror stories are process failures, not craftsmanship failures. The tile is rarely the problem. The handoffs are.

A defined bathroom remodeling process is what turns a remodel from an open-ended disruption into a scheduled, priced, finite project. You know who is coming, when they are coming, what they will do, and what it costs — before anyone touches a wall.

Why the process starts with an exact price, not an estimate

Most of the anxiety around remodeling comes from the estimate. An estimate is a guess that is allowed to move, and it tends to move in one direction. That is why our bathroom remodeling process replaces the estimate with an exact, down-to-the-penny price, given at your free in-home design consultation and put in writing before you sign anything.

It is also why we ask that everyone involved in the decision be there. The number is final, so everyone who has to live with it should hear it at the same time, from the same person, with the same design in front of them. Nobody should be relaying a quote they did not hear.

Who actually does the work

The most important step in our bathroom remodeling process is the one a timeline cannot show you: the installation is carried out by USA Bath’s own licensed, in-house crews — never subcontractors. Subcontracted work is where schedules slip, because a subcontracted schedule is really four schedules stapled together, and every handoff is another chance to wait.

You can verify any contractor’s licence and bond in California through the Contractors State License Board, and in Nevada through the Nevada State Contractors Board. We would encourage you to check ours — and everybody else’s.

How long the bathroom remodeling process takes

The weeks-of-chaos story most homeowners carry around comes from projects run on subcontractors. With an in-house crew and the materials already on the van, a shower or tub replacement is typically installed in as little as one day. A full bathroom remodel — wet area plus flooring, vanity, toilet and lighting — takes longer, but the demolition-to-finish window is measured in days, not the weeks people fear.

Your exact timeline is confirmed at the design consultation, not guessed at afterwards.
